Best possible treatment for the patients

Last year, he ranked No.1 Branemark System user in Japan.
Here together with his wife and a patient.
I first started implant treatment eight years ago in Hachioji City, the outskirts of Tokyo.
Whenever I need to eat at restaurants or buy clothes,
I do it in my local area for I love Hachioji people who welcomed me open-mindedly when I moved in and opened my clinic in this area.

I was always thinking hard how I could contribute to the community and then realized that as a dentist I should contribute by providing people with the best dental treatment,which is the Swedish implant sysem.
Eight years ago, people were not so familiar with dental implants.
I started explaining the implant treatment to all of my patients using the word for an artficial root and giving them the right information on the latest dental treatment.
Patients have the right to select and receive the best possible treatment.
Patients who were treated with implants showed their great satisfaction, which made me very happy.

Patients who did not try implant treatments also showed their interest in implants.
The implant treatment is expensive in Japan.
I involved my community in discussions on the possibility of implant insurance and as a result, people deepened the knowledge of implant treatment.

The above approaches to the community triggered expansion of implant patients.
In 1995, I treated 10 patients with implants and in 1999, the number of patients increased to ten times of the previous year, i.e. 100 patients!
Even more to my surprise, I operated nearly 500 patients in 2000 !!.
To respond to the strong request from the community, I established the Implant Center in 2000 and I swear that I will continue my medical contribution for people in Hachioji whom I love and respect .
From the bottom of my heart, I thank all Hachiojians, Dr. Hatano and my wife who always supported me a great deal.

最初に私が東京の郊外、八王子でインプラント治療を始めたのは３年前でした。八王子に移り住み、歯科医院を開業した際に、暖かく迎えてくれた地域への愛情から、私は外食するのも、衣服を買うのも八王子で済ませています。

地域に対し、日頃からどのような貢献ができるかを考えておりましたが、歯科医師として最良の治療を提供することこそ歯科医師である私の貢献だと考えるに至りました。それがスウェーデンのインプラントシステムです。３年前、歯のインプラントはまだあまり知られていませんでした。そこで私が始めたのは、人工歯根を使っている患者の皆様にインプラント治療の説明をし、最新の歯科治療について正しい情報を伝えることでした。患者の方には、最適な治療を選び、その治療を受ける権利があるのです。

インプラント治療を受けた患者の方からは、非常にご満足いただいており、私も大変嬉しく思っています。また、インプラント治療を試されなかった患者の方からもインプラント治療に関心を持っていただきました。日本ではインプラント治療は高価です。私は地元を巻き込んで、インプラント治療を保険対象にできないかという話をし、その結果、地域の方々に、インプラント治療の知識を深めていただくことができました。

こういった地域社会への取り組みから、インプラント治療を受ける患者は増大しました。１９９８年には１０人だった患者が、１９９９年には１００人と、前年の１０倍の患者数にまで上がりました。さらに私が驚くほど増加はつづき、２０００年に治療した患者数は３００名近くなりました。地域からの強い要望に応えるため、昨年、私はインプラントセンターを開業いたしました。私が敬愛する八王子市民のため、今後も引き続き、医療面から貢献をする所存です。常に私を支えてくれる八王子市民の皆さん、波多野先生、そして妻には心から感謝しています。

これはブローネマルク・インプラントの販売元であるスウェーデンのノーベルバイオケア本社が発行する社内および全世界の歯科医師向けの会報誌になります。
雑誌の性格上、事実だけがレポートされていますので、一般患者様向けへのコマーシャル（○○認定医であるとか国内外の講演会や講習会を主宰している、または出席した等）的要素は全く含んでおりません。
